Bushnell Tour V3 Slope & Standard Edition Rangefinders (With JOLT)

The Bushnell Tour V3 was an award-winning PinSeeker and one of the first rangefinders with JOLT technology. Although this amazing piece of technology is no longer in production, you can still find this helpful gear on the market.

You might wonder why anyone would look into the V3 when the V5 exists. But there are many amazing qualities in the V3 that shouldn’t be ignored.

If you manage to find one of these well-loved helpers, you need to know what you’re getting involved with.

Bushnell Tour – V3 Standard

The V3 comes in two editions, the Standard and the Slope. In the first part of this review we will be focusing on the Standard alone.

The Standard V3 has the amazing PinSeeker technology combined with JOLT to eliminate any worries or doubts about your delivery.

When you are on the fairway, you can feel confident about every stroke. You can use the Standard to a range of up to 1,000 yards with immense accuracy.

The lenses are multi-coated, which means they are well protected against rain, fog and overall wear and tear.

The biggest risk to a rangefinder is a scratch on the lens. You can feel confident that this will not happen with the V3.

You can also use the 5 time magnification feature to really zoom in on your area of interest.

With each update to the Tour line, you receive better and more accurate information for your swing. The Tour V3 with the first in the line to add in the JOLT technology, but it wasn’t the last.

When it first came out, this model received a lot of well deserved attention and even though the V5 now exists, you will still receive a fantastic boost from this earlier model.

Bushnell Tour – V3 Slope

The Slope is very similar to the V3 Standard, however, it has added technology in the lens.

With the Slope, you can expect more detail about the declines and inclines on those unforgiving courses.

Not only will you be able to tackle tough terrain shots, but you will also be confident in hitting long shots.

Again you will get a multi-coated lens to create a clear image from between 400 yards to 1,000 yards.

It also has the same 5 times magnification technology to make the whole fairway visible to you.

As you can tell from this description, the V3 Standard and V3 Slope are basically the same. In all honesty, there is just one difference between the two V3s.

The Slope has an angle calculator; the Standard does not. This calculator does the maths for you, helping you figure out the exact distances and gradients of your unusual shots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the JOLT technology on all the time?

Yes, the JOLT technology is on all the time. However, it can be switched off if required. The JOLT feature is designed to send short vibrations through your club. These vibrations are sent off when the V3 locks onto the flagstick.

How do I turn off JOLT on Bushnell?

If you are not a fan of this feature, the “turn off” method can be a little fiddly. Press and hold the power button while looking through the viewfinder. Keep holding until you see the mode “w/jolt” come up. When it appears, release the power button to remove the feature.

Can the JOLT scan?

There isn’t a scan mode on the Bushnell Tour V3 rangefinder, however, the scanning feature is always on. To scan, you need to move your rangefinder along the area you are scanning. While you are panning in this fashion, you need to press the laser button down.

Can the Bushnell Rangefinders be used on any target?

No. The V3 can only target flagsticks. The technology is designed to easily locate these flagsticks and lock on to the target. The target can be up to 1,000 yards away, but it has to be a flagstick.

Is The Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Or Standard Waterproof?

No. The rangefinder is rainproof and fogproof though.

When was The Bushnell Tour V3 released?

The Tour V3 was released in February 2013. The most recent Bushnell Tour was released in 2021 and is named the V5.

Summary

Although the V3 has been discontinued, you can still find lots of sellers promoting this rangefinder. That’s because of its amazing features, clear guidance, and easy-to-use functions.

With so many great specifications from this technology, it is confusing to see Bushnell refuse to stock more.

However, their V4 and V5 editions can do exactly what the V3 can do and more.

Hi, my name is Andrew Barrett, and I have been a keen golfer for the last 15 years. As a teenager, I used to attend my local golf club and resort with my father, and I quickly realized that it was the perfect sport for me. From here, I decided to take the sport more seriously, and have been playing regularly with family and friends since.

Over the years, I have picked up many useful skills and tips about golf. I have decided to set up my site, Golf Link, as a way to share my knowledge and tips with other keen golfers. Through this site, I will be talking you through general golfing knowledge, and I will also be reviewing golf clubs and equipment too.
